At Parkland Players we would like to make distinctive, lasting, and substantial improvements to our child care, your comments are important to us.
The age group for preschool is from 3-5 years old. On certain occasions, we will accept a child who is just shy of 3 years old.
Each age group is divided into 4 sections and are in 4 different rooms. Infants & Toddlers, Group Daycare, Out of School Care, KG Out of School Care.
We make sure all parents are aware that when packing a snack for their children, they must have the “peanut-free” sign on them as we have many children who have severe allergies even just to the smell.
We provide snacks to Out of School care children right after school. As for Infants & Toddlers, Group Daycare, and Preschool, please provide children with a healthy and nutritious snack and lunch, as we do not provide any snacks for those programs.
Field trips occur over Spring Break, Summer Camp, and Winter Break which are separate programs that include field trips in the prices. As for our regular programs, such as Infants & Toddlers, Group Daycare, Preschool and Out of School Care, there are no field trips. On pro-d days for the Out of School care program and on some regular days for the Infant & Toddler and Group Daycare, dependant on the weather, we will walk with the children to the park or library.
Your child does not have to be potty trained as our teachers will help in the process of teaching them.
We do not incorporate TV into the children’s daily schedules. On pro-d days or during Winter/Spring/Summer break, the Out of School children may have one day where they can watch an educational movie. From time-to-time only when it is raining, we will turn on “Just Dance” for the Out of School children so that they can have some indoor physical activity. We ask parents to consider leaving iPads, and cellular devices at home, however if your child does need it at school, please make sure they do not take out these electronics while at daycare.
Please bring the following:
- Emergency Kit
- Nutritious lunch & snack (everyday)
- Bottles, diapers, cuddly toys, sheets, pillow, blanket (For Infant & Toddler and Group Daycare)
For the Infant & Toddler program, the educators report daily about the foods that were or were not eaten, arts and crafts that the child made, whether or not there were any problems and much more. As for the Group Daycare program, updates may be made daily, or every couple of days regarding what they have done during the day and even during their Preschool time.
For Infant & Toddler and Group Daycare, we ask that you drop your child off before 9 am. For Out of School Care, we ask that you drop your child off by 8:30 (Children who transfer leave at 8:30 and the others begin preparing for school). As for preschool, try to drop your child off on time for their start time. If you are going to be late for any of those programs, please contact the center that your child is at directly to let the staff know.
Yes, we do accept subsidy from the government. Click on the direct link Child Care Funding in order to fill out your form. As soon as your family gets accepted, the government will provide you as well as our center a copy of your subsidy acceptance which will be deducted from your monthly payments.
- EFT, Cheque, Cash
We ask that all families choose the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) method as it is an environmentally friendly option. If you choose to go ahead with the cheque method, there will be a $10.00 processing fee per each cheque given. Cash will only be accepted in certain circumstances.
